Departmental Vision:

To strive continuously in pursuit of excellence in Technical education, inculcate the attitude of creativity, to motivate entrepreneurship among the students of mechanical engineering, so as to become true professional and able to meet the challenges of ever changing global technological scenario.

Departmental Mission:

The mission of Diploma programme is to:

  1. Train the students imparting state of art technical education through properly designed curriculum tuned to the continuously changing need of industry.       
  2. Offer quality technical education and training through innovative methods that emphasize modern engineering skill with multidisciplinary approach.                
  3. Train the students so as to meet the challenges of modern technology through continuous improvement in teaching methodology.
  4. Train the students to have the ability of using the technological knowledge to meet ever- growing socio- economic demand of industry and society at large.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):

The broad objectives of the programmers to shape the students to become competent technologists in the field of Mechanical Engineering, who can meet the challenges in their professional field in a dynamic and spontaneous manner and dedicate themselves to the development of the society.

In broad P.E.O s are given below:

Successful career (PEO #1): To provide students strong foundation of technological fundamentals, necessary to analyse, design, manufacture using modern technological tools to become successful professional in real life world.

Adaptability with new learning environment (PEO #2): To build up the aptitude for an understanding of requirement analysis, ability to adopt new working environment and solves complex problem especially in multidisciplinary in nature.

Keeping pace with developing world (PEO #3): To provide adequate exposure to promising radical change in technology, training and opportunity to work as teams in cross functions project with effective communication skill and leadership qualities.

Integration with the society (PEO #4): To promote student awareness on the life sustained learning by bringing them to their professional principles of practice based on professional ethics of codes so as to achieve the ability to integrate in to the world of practicing professionals for collaborations, mutual support and representing the profession to society.

Programme Outcome (POs):

Students obtaining Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be expected and prepare to exercise the skills and abilities through Programme of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and the PEOs are listed below (a-k):

(a) Ability to demonstrate and express fundamental knowledge of mathematics, basic and applied  science and engineering.

(b) Ability to apply knowledge of Mechanical Engineering science to solve architectural,  organizational and technological problems of society.

(c) Ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems related to industry reaching  substantiated conclusions.

(d) Ability to design algorithm and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data and able to apply the knowledge for measurement and monitoring of programming  parameters.

(e) Ability to use software and mechanical components or processes as per needs and desire  specifications.

(f) Ability to function effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and understand the  fundamental percepts of effective project management.

(g) Capable of using the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice with appropriate considerations for public health and safety, societal,cultural and environmental constraints.

(h) Understand professional , ethical and moral responsibility.

(i)  Ability to communicate effectively.

(j) Understand impact of mechanical engineering solutions on the society and also will be aware of modern-day issues.

(k) Recognize the need for, and have ability to engage in life-long learning.

Course Outcome (CO):

Keeping parity with Programme Objectives vis-à-vis Programme Outcomes, the Course Objectives are designed in such a way that at the end of the completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering course a student shall be able to:

CO#1 Ability to implement knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and basic engineering   science to analyze and develop Mechanical Engineering systems.

CO#2 Apply knowledge of basic mechanical engineering techniques and modern tools to solve engineering problems.

CO#3 Aquire in depth knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Drawing, Design & Estimation, implementing them for effective design of different mechanical engineering systems.

CO#4 Aquire in depth knowledge of Manufacturing Technology, Measurement & control, Themal Engineering, Theory of Machines applying them in real world scenario as per industry and institute needs.

CO#5  Aquire knowledge of Automobile Engineering, Fluid Mechanics and Machines and apply them to design I.C Engines, automotive parts and pumps, turbines, aerodynamic models respectively.

CO#6 Design and conduct experiments, measure , analyse and interpret with data.

CO#7 Identify, formulate and investigate further leading to research and solve   Mechanical Engineering problems.

CO#8 Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic,  environmental, and societal context.

CO#9  Communicate efficiently in verbal and non verbal form.

CO#10 Be familiar with industries, and industrial works.

CO#11 Upgrading the knowledge in parity with modern technological advancements.

CO#12 Work effectively in a multi disciplinary team and excel as an individual as well as team member and show leadership qualities in works environment.

CO#13 Understand norms of professional and ethical behaviour in engineering practice.

CO#14 Use updated and modern techniques and applying them in engineering problems.
